The Body Condition Score (BCS) is a hands-on, 1–9 scale veterinarians use to assess if your dog is at a healthy weight. It looks at three things: how easily you can feel the ribs, whether your dog has a visible waist from above, and whether they have an abdominal tuck from the side.
