Why LabDecode exists
Patient portals like MyChart, MyQuest, and LabCorp Patient release results the moment a lab finishes them. Often that happens days before your doctor calls. You get the numbers first and the context later. That gap makes people anxious, and they end up searching at midnight.
We built LabDecode to close it. Each page explains one test in short, plain sentences. We want you to walk into your appointment with better questions. We do not want to replace the appointment.
What you will find here
Six test guides cover the panels doctors order most. They are the CBC, CMP, lipid panel, thyroid panel, HbA1c, and kidney function tests. Three free calculators sit next to them. The Lab Report Decoder explains a single value. The A1c calculator converts a percentage to average glucose. The eGFR calculator estimates kidney function.
Our blog answers the questions people ask most. Start with how to read your blood test results if lab reports are new to you.
Our standards
- US reference ranges. We follow ranges published by Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, and ARUP. We use US units such as mg/dL and g/dL.
- Public guidelines. We lean on the CDC, MedlinePlus, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, and the National Kidney Foundation.
- Reviewer and date. Clinical pages show who reviewed them and when.
- Private calculators. The tools run in your browser. Your lab values do not reach our server.
Our medical review team
Note for launch: replace the reviewer name, credentials, photo, and license details above with your real medical reviewer before publishing. Authentic, verifiable authorship is required for YMYL health content to rank and to be trustworthy.
What LabDecode is not
LabDecode is a teaching site. It is not a medical provider. It cannot diagnose you or give advice built around your health history. Please read our medical disclaimer and talk to a qualified clinician about your own results.
